As a newcomer to this forum I wonder whether a formal history of the club is available please? I know that there is a brief history included in this internet site but wonder whether amore comprehensive version is available. Thank you.

The club history, what I wrote, was published in 1997 on the occasion of the club's 75th anniversary. I don't know how many copies of the book are knocking about (it sold out its print run) but if you email me at the address under "Club Details" I'll send you the text at least. - Brian Spurrell.

Blimey Reg, good to hear from you. Your grandad was THE founding father of the club.

For anyone who hasn't read the book - Sidney Munn placed an announcement in the Kentish Times of 29 August 1918 about the formation of a new club to be called Belvedere and District, playing at a ground close to Belvedere Station. Four seasons later the club was renamed Erith and Belvedere, and was admitted to the Kent League - and the season after that, they reached the FA Amateur Cup Final.

Reg, I hope you'll keep in touch with the club and I'll remember you to Dennis Crawford and John Shed.

Hi Brian, i always follow the scores, i have been to Welling a couple of times to see them when i have been down. They might not remember me after 50 odd years. My uncle told me a bit about Belvedere & District and his sister lived next to Peter Bird is he still with the club, that is how i got the book. I will ask you did you have the records of Colts B as you did mention them in the book or was it through your research at bexley, do you go to the games, i dont know when i will be down next but it would be nice to meet you, all the best Reg (busman9)

Reg - I got brief details of the Colts' 1956-57 record from the newspaper when researching in Hall Place. Not surprising you were featured in the newspaper considering your team scored 221 goals in 31 games, apparently! Must have been some team you had there...
